Very nice country pub. Menu and specials very good. Staff very friendly yet professional and service is top notch. I'd happily recommend The Bat & Ball, and will be going there again for dinner soon.
We camped here in winter and it was great - it has electric hookup, a good clean shower and toilet block, dishwashing sinks, washing machines - and most importantly a lovely pub with really friendly & relaxed staff. I had the fish&chips which was brilliant and my wife had pheasant in bacon which was excellent. Best of all its both dog and baby friendly, so we could eat and camp with our little ones. The only negative were drinks were a little pricey - 5.80 for a pint! I expect in the summer this place will be rammed and a great atmosphere.
We love this pub but the food was just OK. The duck was over cooked so tough. It had 'shot' in it so was wild but I guess the night before was pretty full on for them. No spoons with the soup and no one wanting our money was a bit frustrating. Lovely embiance and great beers!!
We had a Christmas lunch for 14 people today. The booking was easy, the staff were brilliant, the food was delicious and everything worked really well. We had the snug with the fire and Christmas tree and it was a lovely atmosphere. They were also hugely accommodating to one of the party who was coeliac. Highly recommend this pub, its always a great place to spend a Sunday!
Stunning pub. Great staff. Let down by the food. Maybe it was just as it was a Xmas menu. Starter was great (red mullet) main course was pretty bad. Turkey was OK. However the roast potatoes were awful and red cabbage was poor (Xmas Dinner). Desert was a chocolate fondant which was nice but was just a dry sponge.. No goo! Which was a shame. Staff were lovely though and great atmosphere. Willing to give it another go soon on the normal menu.
